I've been thinking long before buying if I in addition to my Nikkor 50mm / 1.8 still is a "universal optics" buy.
Were ultimately decisive
- The reasonable price
- My good experiences with other Tamron lenses (I own a 60mm / 2.0 macro and 10-24 mm wide angle zoom).
- The limited possibilities of my something relatively faint kit lens Nikkor 18-55 1: 3.5-5.6G VR
After 1000 pictures I have to say that I in no way regret the purchase and the optics use common than thought.
Benefits:
- Even at full aperture sharply, both at 17 and at 50 mm
- Virtually no CA's (chromatic aberrations)
- Very beautiful bokeh at maximum aperture
- Not too heavy for such a bright optics
- The price is unbeatable for such a lens with Vibration Reduction (called with Tamron VC)
- Color representation and contrast drawing are spotless
- Processing and haptics are properly, shaking rattles or creaks or because nothing
- The near-set limit of 27 cm leads an almost near the Macro photography
However, this review should be an "ultimate adulation" no way, because now follow my criticisms:
- The AF is slow, noisy and not always true; For me, the error rate is focus about 5 to 10%, depending on the subject
- The VC is perceived as a kind of buzz, it is felt not quite as efficient as the VR Nikon
- The specified 50 mm do not meet the 50 mm Nikon fixed focal length.
I made the last point of Probeaufnamen tripod. It is striking that the 50 mm Nikon optics fetches little closer than when the zoom to "50" set in the Tamron optics.
I guess the meanings indicated for Tamron 50 mm would correspond to about a focal length of 45 mm at Nikon.
Because of the latter points (in particular the unfortunately typical Tamron AF symptom) I make a point deduction.
Nevertheless, here we have a very good optical properties, which can be fun and presents a very nice results.
If you want a fast lens with an efficient focal range of approx. 26 mm to 75 mm (based on KB-format, due to the crop factor of APS-C sensor) is required, this appearance should look at rest just once.
Because of the often mentioned in reviews "Mon models", of which I so far been spared, possibly a test before buying recommended.
