For the Reviews 5 star applies: Sound and the Fury, you have hurt me (and wrong)! ;-)

Sound and the Fury is so far the first Tocotronic album that I have fully heard. Before that, she had noticed several times positive, about the magnificent Pure Reason Must Never Win or Jackpot.
Herbert Grönemeyer had complained in an interview about the fact that in German-language pop music, only the texts would always be the priority of the critics. That was years before Tocotronic had made a breakthrough. And Sound and the Fury is not just because of poetic lyrics, but also thanks to the musical quality and variety, and the beautiful sound of singing an excellent album. Wir sind Helden make similarly good music, Silvermoon and July are far from it.
The Rock am Ring performance in 2010 has confirmed me again in my prejudice that Tocotronic still a little stiff, elitist and smug act. A song like "Question of the doubt" is then also excellent to Tocotronic skeptics to convince them that this is students from rock critics darlings that for which adheres better. Quite different but the first single power is not even that is extremely catchy and consensus. "Home and networking this you steal your good time." That's NIR only true, but also very funny and to the point. All the many blogs and other Internet projects that have so much time, money and effort consumed to be read only to no one.
Crazy Horse and Grunge there heard here in a couple of songs, it was said in various reviews. More than I need Nirvana- & Neil Young fan not knowing to arouse my interest for this album. And I was not disappointed. On the contrary, the album is even better than expected! Clever lyrics, a successful musical mix, large class of this album! And much more accessible than the novel of the same title.
