I found this wonderful book indeed. I read some books by Irving and since A World According to Garp published in 1980, it has never divested himself originality. This is a fantasy epic with a few colorful local characters who simultaneously high sensitivity. A recurring theme in Irving, the father who fears for her child accidents, difficulties of life is of course present. It is also a sustained suspense throughout the story that is full of surprises. To those who have never read John Irving, I'd recommend starting with one that takes a bit of detective over others sometimes more difficult, then read anyway A World According to Garp.
