Fritzboxkiller! Finally surf AVM-free in VDSL network

This router has been appointed as a test because my provider has delivered the Fritzbox 7390. The 7390 is useless in a subsequent VOIP PBX system because the SIP ports are blocked internally.
The Zyxel router has several modes of operation (only modem / modem + router for ADSL and VDSL2). The unit came with me to me an old firmware, the bitchy and bucked.
Then I converted the device, thanks to Amazon one thing 24 hours :-).

The new unit also came with old firmware 1.0, but could get a new firmware partly filled (only with IE + AV software times short off).
After a few seconds then you have a true professional router for VDSL incl. VLAN switch and high-speed Wi-Fi.
This thing really has very many functions, but can be configured easily.

Then the device will also accept all other browsers and has a very good firewall function.
The visual GUI is very visually appealing. The manual on CD is only available in English and has a few gaps.

It remains in continuous use pleasing cold (as opposed to AVM or LANCOM) and consumes minimal power.

The speed increased with me as opposed to Fritz 7390 by 20% in the Up- / and Download to the same port. So full power!

As a fallback, you can connect and configure a UMTS directly. MEGA!

Anyone looking for a cheap and very fast VDSL router without internal VOIP or VPN functions, will certainly happy here.
And that even with exotic VDSL vendors with unusual credentials (static IP ...)
Comparable devices are at 5 times the price.

One should make sure that the firmware is 1.00 (AAEB.0) _0409 or later receive. Then you may save any effort and can start immediately.
The manufacturer offers a 3 year warranty and has a very good online support.

Addendum: After more than 90 days of continuous use in hot summer still perfect without any disturbance and despite system updates the provider full power. The device remains simple cold and consumes minimal power (so about the 3-4 Watt).

Because a VPN router I run the unit now as VDSL modem. That was easy with a single click and also works perfectly!

Since AVM, Lancom and Co can learn a lot! The Better router for power users!

Addendum 27.11.2013:
The instrument is still working perfectly. The manufacturer has the Suppport (firmware updates) interrupted since September-2013. Now it's almost December and Zyxel does nothing: - ((
If you caught a device with old firmware, nothing. In addition, it is probably an impossibility freeze the support within 6 months after publication.

Addendum 27.12.2013:
The manufacturer has received the support again. The current firmware will be delivered. Thus, the device is simple, even for beginners, used.
It also suggests the current Fritzbox 7490 clearly regards speed and power requirements.
The connections run at identical connections much more stable and faster when using this box.
The unit runs smoothly even beyond 50 MB / s. My provider has "opened" my connection and unlocked the physically possible range without vectoring. Result about 84 Mb / s DL and the 25 Mb / s UL.
After 8 months of continuous use, I'm still excited.
