Who thinks on the wing just let berieseln times to fully tilt of the flops because a new CD, too sure what needs to be completely new, is sure to be disappointed. But just because the expectations of the new were too high. Must because at the present time always have to be new and very different, just to enjoy it? While the new CD is not necessarily readily available, but it finds its way to the one who takes the time to explore what Hoffann want to tell us. "Empty Phrases" and "empty words" are truly not to recognize when one knows how to write this the meaning of the texts and perhaps his new style. Hoffmann creates Spirit to touch us at the exact spot that seems to be difficult to obtain for ourselves sometimes and ties us to his thoughts.
The true fan Hoffmann grew with his music and his songs, as well as the new CD Spirit. In my eyes, a masterpiece about the adult and mature life, the feelings and thoughts in us that we almost daily "packed in small bags' with us and want to carry around in the front yard like to bury here and there.
If you are the CD the feeling "I know everything already," then they rejoice over a piece of familiarity, because Hoffmann remains true to himself. And the troublesome "old phrases" that have been incorporated, what could be better than it was even touched anew by familiar words in a new context to be.
For me personally, one of his best CDs for a long time and I'm really looking forward to the extra concert in November in Saarbrücken! Without question, this CD is a must for any true fan of Hoffmann.
