Although you can a lot of effort and bypassing the included software the camera actually elicit something that is referred to in the options Full HD. But the actual resolution ranges might serve up a maximum of 720p. The main problem of the camera here is that the maybe actually existing Full HD image is so heavily compressed during transmission via the USB cable that not much is left of the resolution and quality.
Now you could argue that it's just a webcam and so one should not expect more for the price. But if it is FullHD, also FullHD intelligent choice.
