Our 5 year old son loves Constructor. He can deal with it for a long time and thus has creative own ideas.
The copying can only succeed with support from adults. Some of the instructions are very imprecise, however, will make it easier for frequent reverse engineering. Compared to Lego instructions they are more difficult.
The purchase is worthwhile in any case.
