I had the Nikon ML-L3 Remote Release bought in the expectation of receiving a branded product with corresponding properties. Although, or perhaps because the only property of an infrared remote shutter release is triggered reliably, I was disappointed: The ML-L3 has worked only unreliable from the outset. It often took several attempts before a signal when the camera arrived. Now, after about half a year, the unit is "dead" - not what is beyond doubt on the battery. Probably I caught a Hong Kong-copy. I will now with the cheaper (and better assessed) no-name product from Amazon trying (AmazonBasics IR remote release for Nikon digital SLR cameras). CONCLUSION: No buy recommendation
