Funny shooting simulation; Bodyshot on skin for Kids sometimes painful

Our nearly 5-year-old son from me with every purchase in the ears, that he wants to have such a "gun". The colorful shootas of Nerf have just done to him. Especially since he has already got paid some, but unsuitable cheap copies of friends.
Because the thing that you see the topic of "weapon" times in this context, relaxed, has actually taken also Papas "Nerf", I bought two Firestrike (FS) and a pack of spare arrows.

Materials, workmanship and haptics:

The FS is down to the nuts and the spring inside completely made of plastic. However, the workmanship is very good, there is no mold lines or sharp edges. The appearance is quite futuristic in manga style.
The feel is good. Surprisingly, little fingers get away with it just as well as manage large Papa hands (Gr. 11). The handle appears to have a Universal ergonomics.
The screw of the battery compartment in the handle does not strike me as particularly durable. After a few times up and turn back the thread will probably be over. However, the batteries are expected to last. They are indeed only the power of the "target laser" (LED).

The accuracy is already surprisingly good for such a toy. Surely you can meet not one stamp from 10 meters but a paper cup from 4 meters already. The dispersion is very limited and is probably the imperfect trajectory of Softdarts (Schaumstoffpropfen) attributable. And the FS has neat bang, more on that ...

Fun:

Actually clear right? Boys and guns ... Of course, the fun is great. Shooting at paper cup is a fun pastime, which also houses twin sister and mommy can not close (two FS players sprint onto the post;).
Of course, son and dad have already played a little "gotcha" that is, we have shot at each other. This of course makes you feel good, but ...
... KIDS SHOULD thereby wear safety glasses. The Fire Strike has a spurt. The firing range of 20 meters is no accident. I love drawing the results on the skin (for example forearm) from the area not much out. Is roughly comparable to a fixed clapping with two fingers on the skin. Sohni but has a bit whining when I caught him once on the skin. The best at this game, so long pants, sweater and kids in any case wear protective goggles! And sensitive Dekoartikel put away. Conclusion:

Yes, the Fire Strike simulated a weapon. So that everyone has to deal, as it considers itself to be right. I find it as a toy in order. The modern version of the wooden sword grip.
