Supplement dated 27/07/14 for USB charging function:
With the current technical solution probably be few users who want to upload their smartphone on longer trips, be satisfied. Why? Even B & M (the manufacturer) is recommended rather to earn its "E-Werk" for this purpose. The reason is simple: A standard dynamo delivers 3 W, ie 500-600 mA, but most smartphones approve significantly more than 1000 mA, if you are offered it. And here is the manufacturer of "IQ2 Luxos" must rectify, that is, if they do not limit the current to 500 mA to the USB port, the connected equipment draws logically the buffer battery in the spotlight yet. This is what happens even when I connect my Sony Z1 Compact. After about 10 minutes it reported then "Charged", again "connected charger" a few seconds later, etc. As a result, the display will always be only slightly loaded in operation and the battery, perhaps permanently damaged. But I draw from another star.
A correspondence and call the hotline of B & M only led to the recommendation that I should but the headlights submit for review. (Following statement?)
I have currently found another solution that works very well so far: A small Power Bank (LogiLink 2200 mAh, for EUR 6 from Voelkner) with USB ports I switch between headlights and Smartphone. The whole course gives an additional wiring, but you do well (including Smartphone) into a top tube bag can accommodate the bicycle.
Conclusion: For the MSRP of 179, EUR, I would not buy this product. Who is rarely at night go to should also save this issue.
