But one thing is this unit: An entry-level camera. Unless you use the fully automatic and / or the motif programs. Because good lighting is provided each image guarantees that because auto exposure and stabilization work excellently and the autofocus can not be beat, absolutely reliable.
But if you want more, you have to thoroughly (!) Deal with the camera. And that's just not to create in a day or two. Even for non-professionals! For this, the settings are simply too extensive. But if one has times its settings found (and also saved, because this is also possible with the action), you have an absolutely reliable partner. Of course, one (no Bridge!) Has the boundaries of a superzoom camera know. But even in border areas can be thanks to RAW to get even a lot. With the Studio free supplied, excellent SILKYPIX Developer that is possible without any problems after a short training period.
As one of my friends is photo dealer, I have next to the FZ100 following cameras can test (my friend gave me the way no recommendation to buy, however, confirmed after approval grinning my decision):
NIKON P100 (I had previously the P90, was also satisfied, but this was stolen from me, therefore, the initial purchase of a superzoom)
PANASONIC LUMIX DMC FZ45
PANASONIC LUMIX DMC FZ45
PNASONIC LUMIX DMC FZ38
SONY DSC-HX1
Fujifilm FinePix HS10
SAMSUNG WB5000
Canon PowerShot SX20IS
CANON PowerShot SX30 IS (of which I was most disappointed)
Such a decision is always a compromise. It's true, when one of the stabilizer (a little) is better because the LowLight capability characteristics (a little) better and there again the zoom again stronger. I let me plenty of time (I'm a pensioner yes) and was able to test at least two weeks thoroughly each of these cameras. I had this most three cameras. And my choice was clearly made in favor of the LUMIX FZ100. This was mainly due mainly due to:
- Fast and Safe autofocus (null committee!)
- Precise, almost silent zoom,
- Own settings can be saved,
- Practical Quick Menu,
- Fast continuous shooting (10 / sec) at full resolution (!)
- Snapshot capability
- Natural (because adjustable) color -
- And of course, the RAW mode, in addition to JPG
- And many "little things" such as filter size, lens hood, flash shoe, precious haptic display and best of all!
Sure there are then Pixelpeeper and brand fanatics who want to make any other camera bad, so does the FZ100. This leads to uncertainty in the information before the camera choice. Therefore, it is important to test yourself even better, compare.
Conclusion: The LUMIX FZ100 is in this segment for me the best by far camera!
