The foot is pretty, and its manufacture is quality, but the center column has a slight play even by blocking. I had the opportunity to compare it with the Manfrotto tripod 190XPROB: it is less "sexy" but the central column does not move at all once tightened. I have not tested in the field, but it seemed much more stable. The handling of the Vanguard feet is also a little too firm, both in terms of the spacing system feet that slip telescopic sections. This is not fatal, but the Manfrotto ratchet system to set the spacing of the feet is more manageable, and more telescopic sections slide easily.

Unless another brand that would hold my attention, my next purchase will Manfrotto, the Vanguard will serve as secondary or walk will please a beginner friend.

When the patella, when tightened, it's good. But the screws generates a race from start to stretch (at the time to force) that inevitably alters the target. I got used to compensate but it is painful. I do not know if this is common to all the balls kneecaps if anyone can clarify ...
