Systems: PS3 40GB, Panasonic 42 '' 1080p, HDMI, Logitec Driving Force Pro
The Game:
The Prologue version of Gran Turismo knows every fan you GT4. It is more or less a technology preview, which should shorten the players waiting for the full version.
This is about the Japan Import in the PAL version. The menus are Japanese-English mixed, operated with a little Knobelei for everyone. There is no English manual.
So the game starts, the firmware 2:01 is required. If the PS3 is not the required level, an update is started on 2:01 on the disc. After the Playstation restarts. The next dialogue is held up on the letters HDD in Japanese. What it does, I do not know. But parts of the game are transferred to the hard drive apparently. This is the game the load times even to the best.
The intro is really worth seeing, but consists largely of the videos already published on the Internet.
The steering wheel has been recognized without any further configuration and works in full -> 900 °!
As Spielvarainten available:
Arcade (free race with the open road with the choice located in the garage vehicles)
Event (preset race with preset vehicles)
Dealer Event (brand trophy)
There are 5 different tracks on the Blu-ray Disc, which also can be driven partially backward:
Daytona (high-speed oval)
Fuji (round trip)
Suzuka (round trip)
London (street circuit)
Eiger North Face (Rally round trip)
There are about 35 cars, usually 2 of each manufacturer. For the first time: FERRARI!
In addition, the current manufacturers from Europe, overseas and the Far East.
Furthermore, we find a garage with the vehicles already purchased or acquired, a dealer who offers the vehicles to purchase, an options menu for the game control (very slimmed down, but here the background music can be turned off!), GT-TV and a news channel. The latter I have not tried yet. Oh, and there is also a Japanese Manual.
The in-game graphics:
Sensational! Both the vehicles, as well as the environment really look just like in the demos. All perspectives (Cockpit, Flight Afterwards, roof, engine hood) are also shown themselves absolutely smoothly on architecturally challenging routes such as London.
Only in the repetition, the repetition is something in the basement. But ME is not so bad. Whether that also applies to the online TV "GT-TV", I do not know yet.
The viewers are three-dimensional, wave or photograph. They even turn behind the vehicle. An impending clash they see but calmly, an invisible wall separating the vehicle from the audience, or the edge of objects. There is no damage models!
The building or background images are lovingly designed and detailed. The highlight here is the "Eiger Nordwand". The mountains in the panoramic view of gigantic!
Although the displayed speedometer speed the real cars do not really come close (with the TT 3.2 in Suzuka on the line V-Max = 203 km / h?), But it must also still be space left for improvement.
The driving physics:
Well, if you were last used to the super fast cars one by played GT4 version, the first hit is of course a bit lame. But as the skill level of the opponent is well adapted (but without a real challenge to be), but comes quickly to gameplay.
The cars I've ever used (Honda GTR, Suzuki Swift, Lotus 11R, Audi TT, Audi R8, Ferrari F 430, BMW M3 and Covette Z06) are all clearly different from handling. Not only acceleration, braking and cornering inertia are well managed, and the engine sound can be heard. However annoying the gray noise of the wind. In the cockpit, roof, and hood perspective and fast ride on the Oval, the TV roars the sysmpathische noise of a TV test pattern in the room. The engine remains unhörbau, unless you drive in the slipstream.
Nevertheless, one can wonderfully drifting, Power Sliden, circles handbrake maneuver, roll through curves and everything else the heart of the racing driver so desires ...
Before the race, various driving aids can be adjusted, I put everything to "off", or 0.
Conclusion:
A lot of money for a game that has to offer no more secrets after 2 days. But I do not regret buying, it's simply amazing what there so to expect. Alone when I think of the Nordschleife, which is to be delivered with GT5, I get teary-eyed.
The overall experience surpasses anything I've ever seen on the race simulation sector by a mile!
PS: The "Ninja Mode", so realistic handling, I have not really been tested, but noticed when trying out: that will be times not easy to beherschen ...
