The first star will receive the game because of his game material. This is - as I am used to - at Hans im Glück very good. The board itself is surprisingly small, which need not be a disadvantage. The cards are beautifully done and the game pieces are brown and purple wooden, with slight discrimination problems between colors. For the second and third star the game comes due to its instructions and the gameplay. This leaves no questions unanswered and explained simply and quickly with sufficient examples. In addition, the game is not only can explain to others in about 5 minutes, but also that from the 2nd round virtually any new players know how it is played.
Bruges takes place in 4 phases: in Phase 1, the hole cards to be tightened to 5. The maps have 5 different colors. If the educated here before the game extra stack must be used, the last round of the game is initiated. In Phase 2, 5 different colored dice are rolled and placed on the game board. Pro diced 5 or 6, each player receives at once a threat in each color of the cube. If one possesses the third threat of a color, so this is triggered and can harm the players sensitive (eg loss of the entire payment or a house fire, etc.). All cube with a 1 or 2 are added together to give the amount of money you can pay, you want to be placed higher on the rise bar on the board by one level (at the end brings victory points). Central stage is 3. Here are 4 of the 5 card hand played out in turn. Each card has this 6 easy to learn functions (2 henchmen take -> are needed to build houses or to activate Spezielfunktionen of cards; take as much money as the dice indicates which you corresponds plays off the card color; a threat markers in the Remove played cards color; build a channel on the board; build a house or move a person in a house built can). After all players have played 4 cards (and a ticket for the next round was secured) follows Phase 4, in the different majorities (number of people in homes, canals and height of the rise) is checked and, if necessary, points will be awarded. Then it starts again with phase. 1
Star number four gets the game due to its replayability stimulus because Bruges is fun without being overloaded with too much choices but needs some planning in the use of the cards. Would like you like to use a card as a person, but either has no home free for the person or the person who can not afford or simply must necessarily build a house with the map because no other henchmen exist except in this color.
To five stars, unfortunately not enough, because that would be somewhat higher the game even with 2 players. Sure the game works for two without rule changes well, but only with 3 or 4 players really. That's a shame, because with a few small changes, especially concerning the threats could (should) be given also the game for two more momentum. Possibly show here individual rules Yes remedy. In addition, the issue is completely interchangeable. Why here Bruges was selected is unfortunately not clear any other city or other issues would work just as well. Even the rules of the game not even initiates the game with a short story about Bruges and the subject, which is quite a shame.
Overall, Bruges is a very easy to learn game for 4 players, which even with experienced players four in fact 60 minutes and lets you play two of us in about 30 minutes.
