Commissioning:
The battery was charged about half full and that was plenty of time to learn about the essential functions of her without having to connect the device to advance outlet, car or PC.
Without prior knowledge of Garmin products, it was possible to me in a short time, both to make the basic settings as well as quick and easy to use navigation functions.
Due to the simple and understandable held in my opinion menu structure and the liquid as Operation via the highly responsive touch screen for large hands is here, in my opinion even for simple "drauflos navigation" a really successful Plug and play - device before.
Issue:
The display surface is beautiful kept matt and shine with little reflections. The resolution could indeed be better, really a hindrance not I find the comparatively low resolution but, as I drive in doubt, more like "announcement" as to map, which brings me to the acoustic output.
The volume I have set relatively low, more than 40% I have not yet needed, which has a positive effect on the language issue, which is still unpleasantly tinny for my ear at least 70%.
The announcements come just as early as precisely and explanatory, so that the view to the monitor almost always remains unnecessary.
Pleasant I find the possibility of vertical display, which is advantageous especially in the handheld operating.
Navigation / Performance:
The route calculation when entering a new destination in Germany goes in a few seconds on the stage.
European destinations take surprisingly little longer to complete.
The location or position information are very accurate in my opinion and just a few meters, sufficiently accurate in any case, to bring the prompts and reminders BEFORE a branch rather than a few meters behind, as I in which one or other model've seen.
The SAT-Fix is very fast, even indoors, and in a tunnel is only after about 500m final with the reception. Very quickly the receiver is manufactured to exit out of the tunnel again and just as quickly the recalculation of alternative routes in case of wrong turning proceeds.
The pedestrian navigation can I find good job and also the pre-installed POI I think first of all sufficient. I also managed the "Where am I" feature that lets you quickly and easily can obtain important location and environment information to, which I find very useful especially abroad.
Bluetooth / hands-free system:
Put my car for the phone function better for controlling the navigation not I use it (yet).
Software:
The device is registered quickly on the HP Garmin, updating the maps is straightforward, with no problems but tedious.
With DSL6000 downloading updates has approximately 2.5 hours needed, then again for about 0.5h required until the updates have installed on the device.
The device was easily recognized when you first plug in Windows 7 Home Premium, 64bit.
Battery life:
With a fully charged battery, I turned off after about two hours messing around with existing residual capacity. From a miserable battery life, which would be well below the manufacturer's specification, so I can not report.
Accessories:
The included accessories are as apparently all manufacturers usual, lean and rather not worth mentioning.
Very useful I find the offered accessory that contains everything lacks the standard scope of delivery and I bought it.

Good also works with the optional car mount for the dashboard that sits very firmly in the saddle and the device also has fixed at a leisurely pace to the touch.
The only disadvantage of this mount is that you can run a 5 "device not having this support or only under very restrictive conditions in portrait mode.

Why "only" four stars?
- Because they are (still) can not establish tolerance in Geschwindigkeitswanung.
- Because the device appears to be not a fan of savings banks, or at least it does not recognize at least "my" for years existing branch.
- Because I do not even want to vote with a fifth star, the pricing policy in relation to accessories, which was supposed to include the delivery.
- Because you have to switch manually from the cross to the vertical display, which now get even cheap digital cameras automatically out.
