Two pairs of shoes have come shortlisted, were ordered from Amazon and extensively tested on vacation. Here you can read about how it happened to me with both feet, I am referring in this review but rather on the Croc:
The "Jayna Women" by Crocs in navy blue and transparent "Water Shoe" Cressi arrived in time for the holidays safely packed in. Two for water recommended pair of shoes that can not be different: Here the dark blue plastic ballerina flats with a light blue rose on strap, there is a soft but very strong stinking pair of transparent rubber slippers, reminiscent of men's shoes.
This is my first Croc, so far I have to stay away from these shoes successfully. But I must admit: I had huge prejudice because I knew only the clunky "garden slippers" and plastic shoes are for me a no-go. This model looks very fine, feminine and sporty despite large feet (I'm 41 and see Ballerinas at me normally like giant clown shoes). One evening I have borne even to my dark blue dress and even though it is plastic shoes, this my outfit have not affected in the least. That says my husband and is very critical with something :)
Especially well suited is the Croc to walk around on the pebble beach and to clamber on rocks (archaeological explorations etc.). On the sandy beach it has indeed quickly filled with sand while walking, but also just as quickly deflated (unlike the Water Shoes Cressi if there sand or stones in it, remains in it). For swimming I would however recommend this shoe had only limited success, although I could very relaxed wading on the flat sandy beach into the sea, but had the feeling while swimming the shoe to lose at any moment. Since I want to risk this in no way (I was already in love), I have only tightened the Cressi swim from there.
Some reviews at Croc report of a strong chemical smell, so I absolutely can not confirm (the conjecture, this lie on the country of production, mine are loud sole Made in Vietnam, according to the back of Rose Made in China). The Cressi has however so extreme stunk when unpacking, we could smell it from several meters away, so that he was again banished to the packaging and also in the luggage I left my husband the only Cressi packed bring in plastic bags. The strong use of water in the acrid smell but this has now gone, otherwise I would have sent him back.
What I really did not expect: The Croc is an absolute all-rounder and now become my favorite shoe (and the more than 30 pairs of shoes in the box). Even right now as I sit on the couch and write these lines I wear it because it is so comfortable and my feet warmed. However, the Cressi Water Shoe I'll put only in the water, because although it is transparent, it is not particularly presentable or comfortable.
My conclusion: I'm keeping both shoes, the Cressi for swimming, the Croc for anything. The Croc gets 5 stars because it is just great, even though he had to convince people first. In combination, these two shoes are highly recommended for holidays on the water in any case. The Cressi I recommend but just so you do not lose the Crocs.
