The Solo2 has replaced my Dreambox DM800 HD.
Reasons:
- Significantly faster CPU
- Significantly more memory (Flash and RAM)
- Gigabit LAN interface
- Fast-growing community with very good support
- Relatively fair price, if you look at the HW Specs
- No hardware technical progress more in the Dreambox
First of all I can do everything I could with the Dreambox, also make the vu +.
And everything is clearly felt very much more quickly. Example, if you tried an extension and restart the box, it is after a few seconds above (which has lasted about 2 minutes in the Dreambox). It also accelerates through the menu, so that the rapid control or operation is a real pleasure.
Through the Gigabit LAN interface and a faster CPU and more RAM, I now transfer rates of 40-60 MB / s from the box to a PC or vice versa. (Dreambox: 6-8 MB / s)
Other advantages:
The Solo2 is very low (barely audible, my TV is loud when you rangeht close).
It is not nearly as warm as the Dreambox.
Good or better processing.
Good informative display.
I easily installed an internal 1TB hard drive afterwards - which is cheaper than a corresponding bundle (saves you about 40-50 EUR).
One must note (Connoisseurs of course) that the vu + boxes, etc. as well as the Dreambox, no power-and worry-free devices. If you are not yet familiar, you can not get around it to make previously extensively clever; that goes for example excellently on the Vu + Support Forum, especially if you, like me, would like to use the VTI Image.
Furthermore, the configuration claimed depending on certain expenses; when I got the Solo2 morning, I immediately began to commission and was late in the evening satisfied with the first result. Since then follows individual fine tuning.
I operate the device via HDMI to a Panasonic 46 "3D plasma. The image quality in HD (Sky and the publicly-rechtlchen transmitter) is mE super (HD + and SD I do not look). The audio signal runs with me via the optical digital output a Denon AV Receiver; Again super signal output = class sound.
The one and another reviewer reported here a poor picture - I can not understand personally, on the contrary (but can only speak for HD signals).
Due to the above-mentioned personal experience, I can only comment with 5 stars.
