The look is maybe a bit strange for some, because the front white (luminous) has area roughly the size of a DIN-A-5-blade, and with the matt-silver-colored side sections of the alarm clock already looks very modern, almost futuristic in. Personally, I liked the clean lines of this model very well.
In this light alarm clock I can on the one hand by a simulated sunrise, but also available with a buzzer (beep), two gentle wake-up melodies, bells or birds chirping, a preset radio station (you can store 10 stations, and for good reception is a wire antenna supplied) or self-chosen music, leave from a connected MP3 player, CD player or smartphone, awaken. Visual and acoustic wake individually but also in combination possible. The alarm provides for plenty of adjustment options, and I can also specify for each day of the week, if, as and when I want to be awakened. There are three basic alarm memory locations are available that can be programmed at the same time.
Thus, the functions are not yet exhausted, because I can activate a snooze function, which wakes me again after a predetermined time. It is also possible to use the clock as a reading light or imitate a sunset. The length is also selectable here, and within the set period of the glow is slowly but surely a little darker, going only in yellow and then red on, then go out completely. Those who like to fall asleep with your favorite music, this can also determine in advance.
The setting buttons, with which I can set all the functions are located on the front of alarm clock, next to the display.
Will you just turn on the light or activate the sunset, you press the buttons on the side of the device.
The LED light is warm white and can be abstufen in strength, but can also be set yellow or red. If the light is switched on, both the front surface and the rear lights to the built-in speaker at the bottom. The speaker has a good and pleasant sound, which can be easily regulated in the volume also for an alarm clock.
To set the various options you should take your time, because I went there at least so that I had to read again and again at the beginning. For functions that I do not use regularly, such as the snooze function, I need still the manual, because there are relatively few buttons for very many settings. It is recommended that the extra attached Quick Guide, in which all options are summarized again just to always have at hand.
The Touch Sensor Tone can be turned off by the way, because when you making the initial settings, you have to press already intensively through the program, and the Gepiepe each time a button was annoying. But Beurer has really thought of everything here.
By the way you can, also control the LCD backlight of the display, indicating the time in three brightness levels or off completely.
The Beurer Lichtwecker WL 70 is connected via a power adapter to the electrical outlet. Batteries are not needed.
Actually, I am completely satisfied with the device, only two small criticisms I have, which are not so serious, however, for me, that it would adversely affect my overall assessment:
As the clock gets its energy from the power supply, it can be critical once the power goes out. Here it would be useful if the device could continue to emergency operation with battery.
At sunrise or sunset adjusted whenever the light level changes, you can hear a low hum, but that wears off quickly. Especially in the late evening or early morning when everything around is quiet, but that might interfere under certain circumstances.
