Since Mark Knopfler on stage, there are so called music connoisseur who describe his music as boring. On placing the Dire Straits, these opinions have strengthened since Knopfler now completely dispensed with chart hits. It is a common phenomenon that music that is calm, is often described as boring. True music lovers know, however, that just in quiet tones reveals the true talent of a musician. Make noise is so difficult now not really. So GET LUCKY is for some, certainly again a disappointment - it is rather the quiet tones that sound here in magnificent sound quality from the speakers. Never sounded a better Knopfler CD. GET LUCKY is a trip to Mark Knopfler film score times, much could come from "Local Hero", flutes, fiddle, it folkt powerful. The opener "Border Reiver" leaves here ever powerful Scottish shake a leg. Knopfler's music paints pictures epic Highlands. This CD is wonderful to read a Tolkien novel. Unlike "Kill To Get Crimson" Knopfler has once again placed the pick aside, plucking the strings again bright and long and remembers above all on his debut album "Golden Heart". Yes, there is again some since the classic guitar sound. There are a lot more guitar parts here. Only the sparkling Stratocaster sounds like "what it is" is not found. In the vast repertoire of the past 30 years, which is to get over, a handle into his own CD archive should be enough. "Cleaning My Gun" is strong, bass and drums, press the guitar howls, a guaranteed live Kracher, who would also be on a Springsteen concert of the highest quality. "Before Gas & TV" is the little brother of "Telegraph Road" substantially reduced, but no less beautiful. Alone for "So Far From The Clyde" and "Get Lucky", this album is a must. "So far" is a grandiose ballad that burrows directly through the hearing in the stomach, "Get Lucky" is a simple but great facility arranged acoustic piece. As ever in Knoplfer here it is worth to read along the lyrics. Here Knopfler heard namely by far the best that there is in the market of songwriting. Subsequently congratulations on the 60th and this fantastic new album Mr. Knopfler.
