I bought the TL-WA801ND to my wireless to 802.11n upgrade because my Fritz box 7170 "only" b / g can ... the installation is initially fairly straightforward, easy to TP-Link via RJ-45 cable a free port of the Fritz box and reconnect the thing stands as AP available. Some time and nerves, however, cost me to set up. By default, the TP-Link has the IP 192.168.1.254 and thus is not in the same IP range as my Fritz box (192 168 178 ...), that I could (via WLAN, my computer is not connected via cable) either the Fritz box drive and did not come from there to the TP-Link, or vice versa. The solution: It had only the IP in TP-Link (menu item Network) be changed, as follows:
Type: Static IP IP address: 192.168.178.10 Subnet: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.178.1
Save the record, boot device new and ready. Now I have the WLAN TP-Link access to both devices, which is important insofar as that I use the Fritz box to call on.
The setup runs now 3 weeks without problems, the signal quality (on one floor) is stable and consistently better than with the Fritz box and the data throughput (thanks 'N') also increased significantly. I can only recommend the thing ..
