Nikon AF-S Nikkor 16-35mm 1: 4G ED VR lens (77mm filter thread, forming rod.) (Electronics)

Customer Review

The choice was between 14-24 2.8, and the 16-35 f4 VR for my Nikon D700.
Both very sublime glasses in every respect.
The price is a secondary matter Being the glass to accompany me and my D700 as long as possible ...
And while accompanying, I think, is one better off with the 16-35 f4.
The highly arched glass element of the 14-24 startled me very much when it comes to protection. I carry my camera on a sniper belt.
That reminds me the 77mm filter thread of the 16er is very welcome. VR works very good- I'm the 2.8er panel in any way from.
Cropping and wide-angle lens are two arguments that not quite fit together, because I want to enjoy the magnificent sharpness at critical corners.
Under aperture 8 I photograph seltenst ... And because the VR plays well with the light should be less time.
The weight of the 16er is another plus point! The 14er is still quite difficult.

The distortion at 16mm I find angenehm- I use this for dramatic wide-angle images, which still give the little bit extra.
If not want-then a tick in the profile correction in Lightroom.
Architecture, however, the 14-24 is better suited because it is very good optically corrected and hardly Listed.

Both are dream lenses, I wanted both on the D700 ......

A single point of criticism but I am 16er (well, it's really a?)

The zoom ring is running ca.2mm empty until it engages. That bothers me a little when I want to focus manually.

Ansonten I am extremely satisfactory gold ring bears the 16-35 rightly so!
