DESIGN & MANUFACTURING:
Is primarily a matter of taste, but a few words from me:
Visually, the Grundig a nice impression. The frame is held in high-gloss black and the foot is made of heavy glass. All in all, a really chic little TV. The connectors are also well placed and easy to reach. In the field of processing, there is also nothing to complain about.
COMMISSIONING & MENU:
Commissioning is quick of hand. Cable purely on box, select the language and start tuning. Time and date of the Grundig done single-handedly. After that, it can then already go. The menu is modern and structured and can be switched into the picture. In addition, the 37 VLE 9270 offers many options such as contrast, backlight, color etc. pp. to adjust the picture here and there to their own needs. Nice gimmick: the change of image values of the TV switches to the split screen, allowing a great "before and after" comparison.
UPDATE ON station sorting:
Meanwhile, a software update on the manufacturer's site is available, which can be taken via USB stick and it makes finally possible to sort the channels as you wish.
ACCESSORIES:
In terms of accessories, it says Grundig really well with the clientele, because the manufacturer provides a quasi excess of 3D glasses and cleaning cloths. For the TV itself there is a large cloth and the 6 (!) 3D glasses provided with the kit, are in each 2-pack packed, each box also contains a cloth. Top! Whether one but actually organized with 6 people in front of a 37's a 3D movie night, I venture to doubt. But well, that's another topic.
IMAGE & SOUND:
But now to the core of the whole, the picture. In the field of analog TV program of course you have to make major concessions in the field of sharpness. However, one has the opportunity to feed the Grundig digital or even HD channels, it reveals its true potential here. Properly he leaves his small muscles but play until the Blu-ray`s. Because here the Grundig convinced by a crystal clear, sharp image knack, which of course is very detailed. The 37 VLE 9270 support for the present time, of course, 3D, with in this case polarization technique. And here makes the Grundig really fun - the 3D convinced if one sits half a meter in front of course. I personally always look else in a 55 "and 37" makes me personally very question whether 3D at all really makes sense in such a small device - in my eyes not really. But nevertheless comes through this feature quite a respectable 3D Feeling on ... a very small but only ;-) Thick problem of Grundig`s is that the panel is loaded with sometimes quite strong Clouding (bright white spots in the corners or at the edge of the frame) which imenz noticeable especially in dark places and can interfere with the according to your viewing enjoyment. Because this is caused by the LED backlight, it is advisable to reduce this to a minimum, which in turn makes the picture but also darker.
In the area of the sound you get taken when VLE 9270 the usual LED TV-acoustics. So nothing special to bring it to the point. However, for messages, etc. what is offered is absolutely sufficient in my eyes.
REMOTE CONTROL & INSTRUCTIONS:
The FB is a real gem with its flat glossy black design. The keys are also structured and limited to the essentials. What I miss here is a lighting function of the keys. The manual is about 40 pages in German (English, there is also) very compact and leads the buyers step by step through the initial setup etc. Top!
OTHER:
- The light blue standby light on the face (especially in dark rooms) extremely disturbing and turns during operation and not from. This can be in the menus and not exclusively respectively set. Pity!
- The switch-on time is 20 seconds a real puzzle and definitely too much of a good (!). My Samsung for example, needs for just 8 scarce!
- The same applies to the switching of the transmitters. Here the VLE 9270 moved but still just within the tolerable.
- The TV does, as long as it is mounted on the base, panning left and right. This, however, much too light for my taste. Nudged short, he almost makes a rotation around its own axis.
- The wireless connection is less than a minute in.
- 4 HDMI inputs
- 1 optical output
CONCLUSION:
All in all, the Grundig 37 VLE 9270 a qualitatively convincing small TV and enthusiastic especially in HD and 3D. A special praise goes also equipping the accessories, because no wishes remain open here for the immediate start. As disturbing I found next to the Clouding mainly the inertia of the device (long one and switching time) and the disturbing blue standby light, which is always on. The problem with the transmitter position is fixed by now, therefore increasing my rating to 3.5 stars, tendency to scarce 4 stars.
