The packaging of the FireWire 800 adapter is as big as the hard drive, and the adapter itself is significantly larger than the USB 2 model and has a very beaded cord. Well, so you can live, is not that nice, especially the connector also acts overproportioned.

The two pulsating indicator is fit for purpose and lean functional to the predecessor models FreeAgent Go on, but were creatively poorly resolved. Who owns the FreeAgent Go, can look forward to the radially running holes, which are light blue / white backlighting when operating. Simple and innovative!
Overall, the GoFlex makes a cheap impression. Worse plastic that scratches easily. As should have been a duster Seagate must be it! Inappropriate is the base dissolved in comparison with the predecessor model, because it is no longer non-slip!
The shape of the housing is a matter of taste. I personally like the FreeAgent Go also in this point much better and the flattened toward the front corner provides much higher quality of (metal surface eg. Black). GoFlex reminds me more of a soapbox in flat format. Too Bad.
Technology:
My backups with the FireWire 800 adapter run very fast and virtually silent. In this discipline it deserves 4-5 stars. Here the new GoFlex plays but somehow made their only strength. A further development of the FreeAgent Go with respect to the connection system I would have advocated. After all, the plate should indeed can remain on the desk, and not disappear into a drawer.
What remains is a fast small plate in cheap clothes and moderate style. Due to the expensive adapter to the price-performance ratio into perspective. For me, a pure commodity. Is snuggled with the operations model ...
