I had bought the same album on release day, and then months are left. Maybe it was just the fear that it does not reach Devils Playground. But after degrees are the cards for his 2015er Tour in sales, I have it but then listened to in peace times and am mostly happy with it. First of all, it is a real Billy Idol album, unmistakably. He has always had also quieter pieces and some of them were so big hits. But this album has become very calm me a little bit. Comparing with hit and H Fischer as some 1-star ratings, I would not go, but of rock & roll or even punk rock we are here far away. The range fits a whole: 'Postcards from the Past' is a typical Billy Idol title. The titular 'Kings & Queens of the Underground', my personal favorite, then something else. Billy Idol in Viennese waltz, but a strong song. With 'Whiskey and Pills' he shows that he has not forgotten the harsher tones. In the second half of the album but it is a whole too shallow to me. 'Eyes Wide Shut', 'Ghosts in My Guitar' and 'Nothing to fear' are simply sagging and Steve Stevens is overall not much to remember. It was not until the second half of 'Love and Glory' and the final 'Whiskey and Pills' makes the rest of the album is fun again. Would have been replaced at least two of these three titles through which with more power, maybe it would be a top album. So it is still a good IHMO. Nevertheless, looking forward to the 2015er Tour, will be in Hamburg in the city park here.
