Some reviews confirm the weaknesses (resolution) of the lens at the telephoto end, but only at full aperture and at the edges. Overall the look is quite usable but, in the lower range of focal lengths (about 50 mm) even very good with surprisingly high resolution. Dimmed to 8 - 11, it returns the entire zoom range, the best results, so my assessment. For the price (currently less than 250 Euro), the lens is recommended if you have no professional requirements. Incidentally, one should find out in which type of camera which settings are optimal. This is especially true for the auto focus. Test shots with different aperture settings are recommended to determine the optimal combination (sharpness, contrast, resolution). Not reach an ideal time-aperture combination, you should think, possibly to vary the ISO range. Thus, for optimal image results. At an absolute top lens such considerations are not necessary because here is the imaging performance throughout the zoom range at a very high and uniform level. Currently, however, Samsung delivers a peak lens, which would probably be located in a different price league, not. Even a slightly more ambitious amateur should under the circumstances under discussion here with the objective to cope and be satisfied with the results.
Lenses from other manufacturers are indeed an alternative, but then omitted some amenities (eg autofocus). I have the Samsung NX2000, and in combination with this lens, I am quite satisfied with the results.
