very good standard lens

I bought the Sigma 17-50 2.8 as a standard zoom to supplement my Nikon 35 1.8. Had previously been the competitive product from Tamron tested, with which I was not really satisfied. The original lenses from Nikon are at a comparable open aperture (for me) priceless. Overall I am very satisfied with the lens:

- Very good build quality
- No zoom creep, ie, the lens will not accidentally off or on when you hold it more down or up (it's also a lock switch available, but you need not to)
-. Distortion significantly lower than, for example, the Tamron 18-200 mm in the same focal range (that you should but can also be expected)
- Sharpness very good, also significantly better than the Tamron 18-200 mm and the Nikon 35 1.8 mm at 35 barely distinguishable
- Optical stabilizer works very well and caused unlike the Tamron no disturbing noises
