Have conversations bought the EOS 500D than entry-level DSLR to search on the net, long benchmarking and with (amateur) photographers. Compared to the Sony Alpha 500, the Olympus E 620 and the Nikon D5000 (all of which I had at hand and have tried), I chose the 500D due to the large display, the easier-to-use in the trial and understandable menus and the large variety of functions worked in this Preisklasse.Auch foldable displays of other brands not particularly solid and the 500D was better in my hand. The manual is understandable for everyone and also the kit lens 18-55mm is for me as a beginner in this focal length perfectly adequate (the equipment can indeed be expanded). It will not make the live image right away great photos, but with some tinkering (costs nothing) works also. In video mode, the autofocus is quite noisy to hear in the recording which is why I prefer manual focusing.
Experienced photographers will convince some technical details not particularly yet they use it partly as a slight second camera.
Bottom line, a good companion to get for your money when hiking, on vacation and all situations in which an amateur photographer is confronted. It has good facilities and after acclimatization, it is easy to use.
