Update: Here is a link to the tool necessary: [...]
I bought this hard drive a few days ago, as she was the best in its segment. (3TB, USB3.0) The artisinal advance: In case a Baracuda ST330006 51AS is. The hard drive makes a solid impression, has a on and off switch and is fanless. Whether this results in excessive heat, I could not even notice. One case probably not be opened without damaging it. (Unfortunately) The cable (ie USB and power) are both fallen very short, but do their job.
The only, but great for me disadvantage is the built USB controller that the hard drive into 2 units divided so that they can be read by older Betriebsytemen. 2 hard disks so they can view einemit 2TB and with 750GB. There are no partition, but separate plates. After some Googling I could find out that it probably should be a tool with which one can fix the problem and make of it a single plate. The tool is from the company Freecom, which was probably purchased by Verbatim. However, I could not make out from the Freecom website, so I contacted the support, so far without response. If this remains the case goes back to disk. I did not so bought a 3TB drive for fun. My information I got from here: (...) Who can, however, live with 2 partitions makes here bargains!
PS: From Verbatim Support I got a software with which you can create a single partition. Since one can not link here apparently, I can not provide.
