If you scratch the veneer of appearances of happiness, there is a totally dehumanized society with values that have deviated over time. The theme is very catchy but I is not really taken in the mood and I'm not really attached to the characters. Moreover, descriptions of sexual mores at that time take too much space in the novel (just okay but enough is enough). This still remains a good dystopia. In the same vein, I preferred "an unbearable happiness" Ira Levin and especially "The Last Man" by Margaret Atwood.
