Have the TomTom GO LIVE since 01.10.2010. Delivery at Amazon.com has taken a little longer than normal and the price is only the RRP - not the usual cheap Amazon Price.
I bought the equipment for the Live services - so far I was an absolute fan Becker - Becker unfortunately does not offer Live services and the speaker quality of the new Z205 / 215 is catastrophic
But now to the device:
The unit makes a solid and high quality impression. The accessories also. The unit has to work right away - including the Live services.. This need after turning tw. was connected to 90SEK until the server.
Benefits:
+ Good transport connections with HD Traffic
+ Very good speech (excellent speakers, very clear TTS voice Yannick)
+ Clear map display (though not as pretty as in Becker, but clearly readable)
+ Intuitive operation (improved GGs. To the x50 series)
+ Well-reacting, Highly luminous display (much better than the x50 series)
+ Smooth display, fast route calculation
+ Very good routing (but see below)
Disadvantages:
- So far no connection possible with the MyTomTom software to update and Individualsierung (to be submitted later, software is not yet online)
- No automatic switching function (came in handy at Becker)
- House numbers are missing in part, even in the old roads
- Lane Assistant in the city not at all turns available (at Becker much better)
- Lane Assistant on the highway shows tw. wrong track number (eg A9 Munich Nuremberg in Fröttmaning)
- Voice input while working, but much more complicated than in Becker (oneshot)
- Device stays occasionally hang (well until the first software update)
- Alternative route calculation tw. pointless; alternative routes with IQ Routes perform well every now and then on a narrow, winding and not more than 30kmh to be traversed secret paths, original IQ Routes tw. fast but very large detours
I will initially retain and continue to test the device. About most of the drawbacks I could overlook - especially as they currently have with LIVE traffic services hardly alternatives that come close to HD Traffic.
Nachtrag1: On 6.10. 2010, leaves the device - out of the blue - suddenly no longer start. And another loop of the Start screen. According to cost and waiting requiring Hotline probably with a request to return a defective device. I've now done and brought me a Go 750 Live. This works until now very stable and offers up to worse screen, the slightly less modern-looking view and a slower processor easy access to the PC and an excellent personal customization and a much much better price ...
Nachtrag2: Could with display, speed and GUI of the "old Go 750" but not life and got me again a GO orders 1000. So far everything works great .... will report. What is certain already: The device is definitely not as bad as it is done here by many. The range of functions is known before buying and should not lead to a poor rating. On the device itself is down to little things and the current lack of connection to the PC nothing wrong! I hope that the software problems are fixed and you can really be completely satisfied ....
