The Killers are entitled to the great rock bands of the recent past. The first two releases Hot Fuss and Sam's Town follows with Sawdust a compilation of songs that produced the two CDs, but have never been published or appeared only as B-sides. Naturally are CDs with scrap material weaker than the regular publications. But Sawdust follows an innate Killers principle: Quite strong pieces that can no longer get out of your head, alternate with boring and superfluous pieces like "Ruby, Do not Take Your Love To Town" or the aufgepoppte version of "Mr. Brightside "(also on the soundtrack of the movie" Rabbit Without Ears ").
Absolute highlights are the Dire Straits cover "Romeo and Juliet", "Shadow Play" the quiet version of "Sam's Town" and sung by Lou Reed "Tranquilize".
Sawdust is an absolute must for advanced Killers listeners. Who knows The Killers still not as good, should rather establish the debut album "Hot Fuss" - which makes a lot more fun.
