* The exit pupil is relatively small and close to the microscope. I have not measured, suspect ca 1 mm. The distance from the eyepiece is only about 3-4 mm (so-called. Eye Relief). Children have therefore easy at all to see a problem, an image. With practice, it works, but it is always stressful. For eyeglass wearers of eye relief is probably the most low.
* The magnification I have measured with 72 (+ -4) and not 100. This is the reason for a star deduction. (I have measured the apparent field of view with 26 degrees + -. 1.5 degrees, this gives the Sehfeldbreite of 1.6 mm aforementioned magnification)
* There is no diopter compensation.
* The measurement scale is not in my copy exactly on the intermediate image plane. By focusing with the eye is either the image or the scale sharp. This is not adjustable. The offset is still in order, measurements can be performed using the scale.
The one-handed operation is very convenient (and keep focus).
The build quality is absolutely ok, the storage bag a plus.
I had no problems with the battery compartment and can not recognize what could go wrong there (review of Wagner). No sharp edges and live parts otherwise isolated.
For the budget conscious this microscope opened the Incident World: butterfly wings, petals, insect legs, dander, As-seen-a-pen stroke and also knives micrographs (seems review standard to be the main area). Buy recommendation, especially for curious children from 5 ~ 73 (after that it will certainly get nothing because of the glasses, in front of the exit pupil is just too bad).
Edit 01/16/2014: In the product description is now 80-times magnification (formerly wrong 100)! So no longer any reason for a star deduction. In the pictures of the product you can see the "100x" lettering.
