Mustard oil contains glycerides of erucic acid, which can lead to Herzverfettung permanently. It has to be very hot, so it does not cause any health damage. In the East Asian cuisine it is so common. In the EU, mustard oil, however, must not be placed on the market as food when the erucic acid is less than 5 percent.
