Honestly? Maybe I have too great expectations in GOW: Ascension had. As a single game considered - Super!
Hammer graphics, you have to admit. Also the combat system is typical in style of God of War, although no particular changes but just as it has always been, it's perfect.
The typical carnage as always brings joy and it is also here and there a puzzle or a boss fight to be found.
So far so good.
BUT:
Bugs without end.
Time I had fights in which just always came new enemies, after 10min came to me all now but Spanish front. Loaded control new and lo and behold - it opened a door after calming scarce minutes. I would probably be able to fight even days.
Time the screen was just black and I could only imagine Kratos still, even that came to my Spanish after a few minutes ago. Checkpoint reloaded - same game. Everything okay again.
Then I got a tip, just typical, "press this - then happens". Clear. Only the not yet disappeared after 20 minutes until I died once. Then this annoying Superimposed was gone.
The bugs can thus largely remedy by reloading the checkpoint. Can you cope with, but does not have to be after such a long development time. There are however no penalty, many games nowadays have bugs.
Thickest minus in my opinion, to the "story". Extra enclosed in quotation marks because it exists simply not.
Of course we want to massacre us primarily with Kratos through the area but in spite of everything we are moving in the context of Greek mythology and had the last parts of the awarded certain spice. It was epic to meet one or other of God or even to travel to places that you know from hearsay from mythology.
In effect, we have "befriended" us with Kratos on the last games away, have done with him, vengeance. We have always had one goal in mind, to find or to kill Zeus Pandora's box was. And little by little we learn something about the character and the story of Kratos himself.
In Ascension, the developers have probably placed no particular importance. Mostly I did not even know where I am now actually run with Kratos and especially WHY, for what purpose.
Although many gaming arcades were vividly designed, but somehow lacked the tension.
And God of War does not have to offer much story, on the emphasis in the end is not displaced. That's fine too so - it has always been. But no power !? This has been very deeply disappointed me. One could counter and say, it is quite a story there. That may well be, but this is anything but set complex and very poorly staged.
Conclusion:
As - as before - God of War avid gamer, I would buy myself also the next part, no doubt, if still a is produced. The whole thing did not detract from the because the typical style has retained Ascension and I'd be lying, I would argue, it would have made no fun to play this game.
God of War is and remains awesome and I enjoy.
After all, it is for me the worst so far of the entire series, which included PSP games.
The graph I cling in this statement of course, on the other hand there is nothing wrong.
Will buy it but do not expect too much you quiet, then you will not be disappointed.
