In addition to the S510H there are only two other handsets in the PRO-series: The R630H PRO is a rugged outdoor or workshop unit and rather less thought for an office environment. This I bought and even going to discuss it in a further review. As expensive twin of S510H there is the SL610H PRO, where SL stands for the upper class at Gigaset. The twins look alike to confuse and also the data sheets show next to the battery life, no differences. Only if you look closely, you realize that the SL610H somewhat smaller and high-quality looks, but according to the manual but with a proprietary lithium-ion battery is equipped, whereas the S510H uses normal AAA round cells, which can be very easily replaced, when the power eventually subsides.
As the SL610H can S510H 500 contacts in the Address Book, has a two-way speakerphone, Bluetooth for vCard transfer and headset mode and a headset connection cable with 2.5 mm jack, which is why many smart phone headsets fit only with an adapter. The display is in color and illuminated. With the box are a power adapter, a charger, a belt clip and two batteries of Suppo, the are umgelabelte Eneloop batteries, so very high quality battery cells.
Unfortunately, the insertion and removal from the charger causes a metallic creaking noise, which I find slightly unpleasant. The resolution of the display is much higher than expected, it is a very fine writing. The range is very good and I would rate the call quality as well, where it rushes through quietly in the background. This is of course annoying during long calls. This noise occurs with cable headset is even clearer for, with Bluetooth, it is less pronounced. The headset mode via Bluetooth works total super, even switching between headset and handset and back during a conversation is not a problem. The PC software QuickSync can update the firmware from the handset, but not directly manage contacts only synchronize with Outlook, for example, is possible. Better yet, of course, the bases of Gigaset had a central telephone book with the web interface as the Fritz boxes, but this I had already expressed during the review of the N510 IP base.
To conclude that the S510H is a good phone with high range, easily replaceable standard batteries with a long maturity, valent appearance but slight noise is continuous. Exciting would be a direct comparison with the Premium twin SL610H, but as I have already purchased two S510H in a set with the N510 base, I probably will not buy me a SL610H.
