Basically convince the adapter and provide a good performance for really small money. In terms of software, there are, however, to improve small details.
The installation is very easy. Who wants a simple installation with standard network name (HomePlugAV), just have to press the existing pairing buttons and already recognize each adapter by itself.
To enter your own name (which is far safer course, as well as an electricity meter is not an insurmountable hurdle to attackers) you have to install the additional software provided.
This software (the so-called. Powerline Utility), however, requires WinPcap (current version 4.1.2), which is not Windows 8-compatible (yet).
There is a trick: In Windows 8 you have to download this software separately and will be installing in compatibility mode and as an administrator. Then also works to install the Powerline Utility. However, this should also be used in compatibility mode (eg Windows 7), otherwise there will be bugs.
In addition to compatibility with Windows 8 also the lack of QoS should be noted.
The older Adapter TL-PA210 / 250 and PA211 / 251 had this feature as well as the "bigger brothers" TL-PA4010 (P).
Since I believe that this feature is disabled by software ledigllich, it is possible to activate it with the "Powerline Utility" of the TL-PA4010. Although this case is written that this utility is intended only for the named adapter, but it works fine (apart from the usual Windows 8 issue) with the "lesser" adapters TL-PA2010. This I did and at least the software appears to have adopted the amendments and QoS enabled.
Positiva:
+ Price (30.99 at Amazon at 20.02.2013)
+ Very low power consumption (load: max. 0.9 watts measured)
+ Small size
+ Good function (even at outlet manifold connectors)
+ Quick installation
Negatives:
- Compatibility with Windows 8
- No QoS (in belonging Utility)
- Occupied socket
- Manual was enclosed for TL-PA511 and not the adapter supplied (but also works without)
Personally, I would draw due to the currently very low surcharge to the version with loop-through outlet (TL-PA2010P), as this one hand, any faults can be avoided by other electrical appliances and one on the other hand no outlet "used up".

Updated on 30.06.2013:
What I see is for some time a new version of WinPcap available (4.1.3). These should be compatible with Windows 8, would therefore be superfluous some of the above avowed installation steps when it is used. TP-Link has not yet updated its downloads. See downloaded at WinPcap.org.
