Positives:
The coffee tastes
The coffee is hot and has a nice crema
The machine is fairly quiet and reasonably fast
The machine can be (once you figure out how to cleverly shoehorned into the water tank) fill light, very easy to operate and easy to clean
The machine is also suitable for high cups (to 12.5 cm normal; without drip tray to nearly 16 cm height)
Negatives:
Without water tank water flows from the disconnected machine
Amount of water per cup not be set individually (only 2 stages: normal cup, large cup)
4 to 6 times descaling is available at about 12 a year
We were from a few years old Petra Machine (KM 30.27) came out (there the lever for pressing the pads was discontinued and the current Petra models are obviously only suitable for low cups) and find, despite a little taste difference to coffee from the Senseo Quadrante also very good.
A disadvantage, however, that one must obviously always be in the Philips Senseo Quadrante the water tank in the machine, if you want to risk no wet drawers or a small flood in the kitchen: Occasionally stored water running hours after coffee preparation appear in the machine again the water inlet opening out quite a half to one cup of water! This is probably a Philips Senseo typical problem: Known have the same trouble with a new Philips HD7825 / 60 Senseo Viva Café. If you know it, can the water tank so there can (then nothing works out) we had only got into the habit early to put down the water tank to dry outside the appliance and hoped thereby better prevent possible contamination. The telephone Philips customer service was not very helpful: he recommends flushing and descaling (when only a few days old device - it would have been tried by the manufacturer already!).
Speaking descaling: Philips strongly recommends that you clean the machine four to six times a year with your own descaler (eg HD 7012/00 for 10 and 4 Entkalkungsvorgänge), which at an average of 5 decalcification least 12 euros extra per year incurred. When Petra Machine no descaling was necessary.
