Customer Review

Eve succeeded as one of the few women to assert themselves in the male-dominated hip-hop circus and this at the tender age of 21 when she and "Ruff Ryders' First Lady" celebrated its debut in 1999. The success of the debut was the former stripper from Philadelphia right and so it was no surprise that soon a successor should be done. 2001 the time had come, "Scorpion" was in stores and was also a hit, what with Dr. Dre, Swizz Beatz, Trina and the then highly demanded Ruff Ryders clique probably was not a coincidence at collaborations.

The opener can be found after the intro with "Cowboy" before. It is a rather inconspicuous song, certainly not a hit, but it is very meaningful for the rest of the song. A warm and confident sound, which is caused by moderate latin guitar, although mainstream, yet high quality to an Eve that her record deal more than justifies with a hungry Flow. A good start, which as I have said a large part of the rest of "Scorpion" well represented. A first real firecracker gives us the good with "Who's That Girl?". Catchy party beat and rousing trumpet melodies grab one of the very first moment, Eve tells us who is the boss here, is what then topped off with a catchy chorus that barely get out of your head once it is inside. Many probably know well "Let Me Blow Ya Mind", a highly successful collabo with Gwen Stefani. As if the combination of these two power women not sound enough, yet is added the fact that the then trimmed to Hits Dr. Dre that thing even produced. In the end, not a Banger came out, but a rather wicked, naughty and very casual number, but this is also a good groove such that the pre-programmed wrapping adjusts itself with warranty.

In order to respond a little bit to the problems of fellow women the confident Beziehungskiste "You Had Me, You Lost Me" was recorded. Electric guitars underscore Eve's big ego, overall a decent, though not outstanding song. Such we would rather the Club Burner "Got What You Need", which is still quite frequently launched by the DJs. After the beginning of the track is not sound so promising, goes to the first chorus of the post right from Swizz Beatz. Good dance rhythm, this beautiful, if a little pop tunes - so you do hits for Clubs. Eve rapping along with Drag-On, which complement each other really well, no later than when discussed Refrain from Swizzie then there is no stopping. Together with fellow Trina and Da Brat Eve played the Smash "Gangsta Bitch" a. In particular, the rapper from Miami blends well with the energetic production from Swizz Beatz, but also the ladies from Philly and Chicago as seen from their best side. Continued is that the more dignified "That's What It Is" in the Ruff Ryders Buddy Styles is still on board.

Also DMX may not be missing on such a board and he decorated "Scream Double R" with barking and his harsh Rapstyle, this is Eve bit into the shadows, but which is also the fact that this little funky beat better X aggressive style suits , Soulful sounds are against it struck with the two brothers Damian Marley and Stephen. "No, No, No" is the love song with summery reggae flavor. This type of music a surprise at first though, but soon you will find pleasure in it, moreover it ensures correct breath of fresh air, as well as Eve area shows a completely different side. Unfortunately, this is now entering the end of "Scorpion" is no longer quite so convincing. Both "You Is not Gettin 'Nowhere" and "Be Me" (feat. Mashonda) act rather undercooked and have quite weak, almost annoying instrumentals, only the thoughtful "Life Is So Hard" (feat. Teena Marie) can be counted as a small highlight.

Even with "Scorpion" Eve was able to show that it is extremely talented, that doing so many great tracks have emerged, makes things even better. The album is certainly not perfect, but very good, as long as you orientierterem Rap something can begin with Chart. Let's hope that Eve can be linked again to this class after eternally lasting thirst Recke.
