After I read the news about the JetDrive Lite, I have pre-ordered the card from Amazon at 23:05 and it was to my surprise a week later already in my mailbox.
For card itself there is not much to say. It fits perfectly into the SDXC card reader of my MB Air, is probably. one millimeter out, but can not accidentally fall out or break.
The removal takes a while but is not really a big deal and requires no special tools.
As soon pushed into the slot, the card is also correctly recognized as a SDXC card from the MacBook.
Once I have a few benchmarks can go through, I can only confirm values specified by the manufacturer (~ 82MB / s read, 62MB ~ / s letter came to my tests out).
I am looking forward for more storage, I have with me at all times.
The only thing that one might consider as a minus point would be that the card fits only in the respective models and can not be used in other SD-card readers or devices.
But you have a custom-fit memory expansion at a moderate price / performance ratio.
Buy recommendation!
PSIch've additionally installed for testing purposes the program Jettison.
Newer MacBook models go well only in the standby mode and not in sleep mode when an SD card is inserted.
The program (there are also other programs) will eject the card when the MacBook is put to sleep
and reactivated the card again when you wake it.
It is supposed to save electricity. I'll keep this a bit in the eye.
