RE 4 broke new ground and was not comparable to its predecessors. Still, I had to cool and sometimes very creative and wacky Locations great fun. RE 5 was no longer a horror game, but a shooter for me. Not bad, but I'm waiting for years to almost a return to survival horror roots. To which I had absolutely no desire, was a RE with Dauergeballer, so I've Operation Racoon City and part 6 not only bought.
Now to RE Revelations 2: Attention: If you want to play through the game yet, could be gespoilert !!!
The game is told like a miniseries in episodes. I like quite well and is contemporary. Also the delayed both campaigns has fallen with. The ends of the episodes always rely on new voltage.
I think the game starts a bit slow but quite atmospheric. The story comes only at the end of the first episode in the transition. The first location (prison) is dark and morbid. Well I liked that I finally shocked me again. Less well-liked the SM monster with mask and ax. This was known from RE 5 and had at least very trashy to me.
Super I like the thing with two simultaneously playable characters. I think this is been well implemented and less annoying than in RE 5 and is extremely addictive game play conducive. Here we are on the subject Steuerung..auch here I have nothing to complain about. Nor when the net asset structure. Here there is little unnecessary.
Also, I have to play me happy Claire Redfield (the Capcom obviously has revamped some sense Kate Beckinsale). Moira Burton I find a bit annoying, but the father / daughter story appealed to me very well.
Berrys and Natalia Campagne liked a little better. That you can play Barry (one of my favorite characters of the series) I think anyway super and somehow Barry's mission, at least initially a little less full of action, which it places quite good going when Claire ... but compared to RE 5 still well dosed. The character Natalia I like also very good ... I wonder if they already badly recalls Sherry Birkin. The Barry mission was towards the end really exciting for me at least. Super I find the mixture of normal Zombies, "possessed" and mutations. In RE4 and 5 went to a one-sided, grade in shooting scenes against Uroboros Söltner.
From pull data ago reminds me play something on RE 2, which I valued very positively for me: sewerage, deserted street scrapyards etc. and ever come back a little old Resi-feeling with me on. Toll I also found the giant crane and the underground cemetery and the homage to the mansion (of RE 1) at the end. The mine area is reminiscent something to RE. 4
The sound I find most suitable ... for my taste but it would still may be a little scary. Music remains more in the background than for very old parts, is yet succeeded.
But at this point I have to add that I've missed something ... a residence, a castle or the like (although there at the end of a short, but only very briefly). Degrees from the tower of the guard could have been done more. The Antagonistin and the root of their intentions remain somewhat opaque and the connection to the old parts appear at least confused me somewhat. The one negative I have also long loading times and I still find the game badly short. Considering that there are almost two campaigns in one, she's together if at all as long as RE4. A fifth episode and one or two locations would have the game can definitely still spendieren.
Conclusion: I think RE Revalations 2 is a successful and modern horror game, which is more than his predecessors to atmospheric and has scaled back the share action again. Everything is contemporary and yet the roots are appreciated. One must again creeps and frightening sometimes. Especially with Barry can cheer quite good and it is fun to send his Partercharakter through narrow passages (Natalia) or to be assisted in the fight (Moira), without which it seems unnecessary.
Keep up Capcom! I had a lot of fun. The next time the story but may again be somewhat pompous the game itself a little longer and you are allowed to send the characters quietly back through ancient building ... oh and let's not hesitate to these SM-zombies away. Thank you!
