I have the mouse already for about a year, am quite happy to be. It is exactly the buttons and the wheel work well and reliably. However, the power supply with only one AA battery or battery is simply a faulty design. The mouse consumes so much electricity that I need to charge the battery every two days. At least you can work with the USB cable connected ...
Who needs the extra buttons, especially for gaming, can buy the mouse. As a "normal working mouse" I would leave it alone, too cumbersome, the permanently empty battery. My "second mouse" Apple keeps loose one month with the (mind) two batteries.
