Since I do not feel like the gimmicks and expensive shaving heads of the newer Braun had 7er series more, I opted for the Panasonic, which was quite cheap to buy and also the shaving heads are not that expensive. The Panasonic has an elongated as Braun shaving head and so I use parallel for one year the Philips and Panasonic.
The Philips is just unbeatable in the neck, because Brown and Panasonic are not nearly as good.
Regarding the shaving performance of Philips is better because its shaving head every time after a shave with Panasonic still full of stubble.
When Panasonic hardly crumble some stubble on sink while shaving, when Philips.
Unfortunately the meantime has fallen sharply, the battery life of Panasonic. Strangely enough, the battery will lose anyway only to 60%,
then you have to reload. The Panasonic NiMH batteries, as well as the NiCd batteries (just not as pronounced) have a memory effect.
That is, if one does not discharge these batteries properly and recharges, these batteries remember that and lose with time capacity,
resulting then in a shorter time which is available for shaving.
My old Brown also had NiMH batteries, holding 10 years ie if the charger is well built, 10 years are quite possible.
At Panasonic the charger seems to be pretty bad, because after 1J the batteries last much longer.
For comparison, the Philips has advanced lithium batteries (as in mobile phones) and allows for 3 years for 2 weeks daily shaving without reloading.
The Panasonic also has newly shaved for more than 1 week.
The trimmer of Panasonic OK, better than Philips, but worse than the old Brown.
By weight of the Panasonic is as heavy as the brown (also might be due to the battery), the Philips is comparatively easy.
The trip to the Panasonic Shaver World has certainly shown me that the Browns are much better quality (maybe just were).
My next shaver has a lithium battery definitely, because they are simply less problematic and much easier.
Maybe I try it again Brown.
Anyway, I can recommend the Panasonic RT81 not in good conscience, even at the low Peis.
