The touch screen I found actually fine though not perfect, but I did not have annoyed me about it.
The difficulties often described with the map update you can also qualify, once you have for example the French computer voices away with the clear TomTom Home software (automatically creates a backup to the PC), determine the actual card installed easily.
But beware to all TomTom Kenner:
With this current model (XL2, 2010) were some features removed! Apparently, that falls into the category: Simplified menu.
The following points have left me (are not described in the instruction manual):
- No way to influence the route calculation. Thus, it is no longer possible between the fastest, shortest possible, select bike or Fußgängeroute. Also, the IQ Routes is no longer disabled.
- Itinerary Planning has ceased to exist
- The status view can not be freely configured (horizontal, vertical - and the displayed content).
Whether still missing several points I do not know, but above are but a crucial feature limitation. Who wants to have these points still should instead resort to previous TomTom XL (2009). This has a slightly verstaubtere graphics (slightly slower), and subjectively a darker display, however, has all of these features mentioned. I have certainly changed over the older model and am very satisfied.
Who can do without the features mentioned, which I can recommend the TomTom XL 2, however.
