Pro:
The device is very fast its satellites. I still had the Navigon wait up to four minutes for a connection, it is made at Garmin within seconds. For me as a city dweller a real plus since I now use the 56 LMT for short distance.
Clear display, easy to read, many variants of the map display (from gray to colorful), a lot of additional information on POIs.
Lifelong map update!
Simple but efficient software, transfer the updates from the computer to the device and personal settings can be saved.
Largely self-explanatory operation.
POIs can be very easy to find and drive. A real plus when you are traveling with the camper and quickly eg supermarkets, refueling or restaurants looking.
Practically at the stage plan with the camper is the route planner. Calmly can here cobble together his desire Route eg along landmarks and save.
Contra
Display is limited configurable. So the speed always (!) Is displayed, even though the well is the least important information in a car navigation device. There are the speedometer ...
The user can be only three types of POI on the map at the same time. (Eg parking, refueling and banks. Who still wants to see supermarkets, must remove one of the first three POIs.)
In my old Navigon many POIs were expelled with their brand logo, at a glance could be seen as, for example, whether one just two streets away skiing at a Lidl past or at the branch of his bank. Garmin is here with very few exceptions, only the official logos of the POI category.
Of the track formations as remaining distance, remaining time, arrival time, etc., only one value can ever be displayed. The change of the display is a bit cumbersome and cost two or three seconds. On the highway is that then flying blind for the period of the change.
The level of detail of the map can be adjusted in three stages, but even on the highest setting, I feel the level of detail to be lean. So free roads are not reported about one-way streets or only for residents. A standard zoom factor can not save himself. Mir zooms the map, especially in the city out always too far.
