Logically, of course, that it can play HD DVD, DVD and Audio CD. However, I wanted to also can play a player of MP3, JPEG and DivX. But here I was disappointed. Can not he. In a third study of the instructions I found in any case after all the evidence that mp3 may not be reproduced. From a player in this price group and in particular the top model in the line, I expect these days just these functions.
I had also consulted a request to put Toshiba, which has not been answered to date. So here minus point for service and playback formats.
Then I me an HD-DVD, fortunately a combi disc HD-DVD and DVD bought, because I try so at least the repeatedly advertised additional information.
When film came here "Smokin Aces" are used. First of all it took felt far too long until the player has ever read the disc (at least as long as he needed to start). Then the movie menu jerked just as the picture with Klangaussetzten. I now thought, ahh, you ask the player back to 1080p / 24 to. This brought in the case, however, nothing.
So I tried the online update feature of the player for the operating system. I pressed update and I was shown that I use version 1.0 and version 1.1 is available on the Internet. So I said, "Yes I will update". Now you have to have patience, because the update takes a whopping 40 minutes!
In anticipation, I launched the HD-DVD again and behold there is no improvement in the Start menu.
So I started the film and the capitalized present there underground Control for additional information. The film was then fortunately without bucking and Sound dropouts.
As I was now shown that a scene image would be present in picture Additional information, I pressed the corresponding button on the remote and lo and behold, the main image has been pushed together something and another, smaller image appeared, in which the director and a cameraman to ünterhielten in English. I switched back to normal operation and was now happy in the main film with the English version. At first I thought I would have squashed me, but it was not like that. I tried the same game with other scenes and had to realize that every time you used the picture in picture function also the main feature was changed to English. Movie fun comes here not to!
The second additional feature worked better. Sometimes you could be represented in an overview of the positions of the main characters. There were no problems with the language.
Unfortunately there was an access to so heavily advertised online content. In this film sadly wrong.
So also here minuses.
Conclusion: I would have given the players only 2 stars, but the picture quality has been so compelling for me that I decided to 3 stars. Very good picture and sound quality features of this player. Comfort (playback formats, Toshiba service, additional content) you will not find here. Fan noise is heard only by the way, unless you have the movie.
