The main reason to install this mirror, is the increasingly extreme weather, which is now very often resulted in the total loss of picture. My Kathrein (70cm) would otherwise have done for years determine their service. For mounting the 85 cm mirror not a big craftsmanship is necessary manual is virtually unnecessary. The quality of the components is entirely at Kathrein level, but that will only become clear after many years. The bowl is made of aluminum, the LNB support from powder-coated iron. The cable to the LNB can be exemplary and secure them. The mast holder is equipped with 2 robust 8mm strong ironing, unfortunately the carrier partially of plastic. The LNB holder is cast, for Kathrein recording as well as for standard LNB. Weak point, the lateral screws (M8) for adjusting the tilt, which should not over-tighten it, to firmly come here quickly "lose". Is a well-read scale, which makes it easy with a removable back pointer, a rough adjustment to this setting. Since I have used my old LNB again, I had a direct comparison to my 70cm dish, the signal strength on my Technisat (I use also for precise alignment) has increased from 72dB to 84dB, which is already a lot of bad weather reserve. In any case, a high-quality antenna and real alternative to Kathrein, for significantly less money. The mirror is otherwise identical in construction to Astro. Another helpful hint, 85 cm is too large, already worrying if installation on the roof is pending for most of the skylight. Addendum 14/05/2013: The mirror is now 3.5 years on the roof, everything is still in excellent condition, of course, the paint and plastic is a bit faded, but this is completely normal. So the recommendation is maintained.
