Positives:
+ Low Cost
+ Cheap replica cartridges available from Peach, function properly
+ Low ink consumption -> no cost case, as with many "low-end" printers
+ Good to very good print quality for an "Office" Jet. This is not a photo printer!
+ Fast print speed (theoretically, see below)
+ Connection via Wi-Fi quickly and easily, even if no WiFi there (printer acts as a router)
+ Power Saving and plans
+ Good scan quality
+ Fax Feature
+ Mails can be sent to the printer and jerked directly
Negatives:
- Printer makes approximately every other turning a system check, which can take between two and four minutes. That happens a like an eternity and when you want to quickly print something, it's really annoying. THE gripe par excellence!
- Print jobs take a long time to be transferred to. Once the unit is "momentum", ie printed, everything goes Ruck Zuck. Until then, it may take a while.
- Quiet Fiepton when the printer is in standby. Maybe interesting for very sensitive ears.
Another little tip: if someone (like me) like to save paper and number of pages printed on both sides MUST invest in the slightly larger version 6700 with duplex printing unit. This feature I miss a lot in my model!
My conclusion: Even if the printer offers a good price / performance ratio and clearly outweigh the positive points, I would not recommend this device to my friends. If we do not continue operating the printer is in standby mode, you are confronted too often with this stupid system check and indeed whenever you "fast times" what would print. Then the neighbor waits again ten minutes before the door, because they wanted him to print two pages ...
For this reason, the "usability" there are only three stars from me.
Who "forward-looking prints" can with the OfficeJet 6600 certainly be happy, especially as the unit of a facsimile function, through networking and Scan function to "print email" really dominates everything a modern All-In-One Printer can should.
