Be careful though with two important points:
1 - the battery is actually much larger than the original, but a removable plastic cover is provided in the original controller to allow the housing and keep
2 - My two older PS3 controllers have the connector keyed a finer than those batteries (identical on 3 bought) and this makes it impossible to dismantle the connection except that of the original battery and replace that of the battery to connect it without problem! no mistake in the sense winding between the red wire or the black wire you attention to a short circuit :-( for my last handle (most recent) connector could connect directly the key slot is wider ...
I just changed on 3 joysticks and they work well ... to confirm the holding of the load over time ...
