I have the can, however, not used for storing food, but to me to build a small kiln for knife blades hardening. Cap and ring from, hole purely drilled and screwed feet off, perlite and water glass mixture as a border ...... finished.
The can is really high, and was suitable in terms of size very well for it. Presumably, you could even keep the can to divert food :). Enjoy reverse engineering).
