The cables I've tried only in a few situations. So far everything has worked to my full satisfaction:
- Control of the flash settings on the camera menu: properly and completely.
- E-TTL flash control: properly
- Manual power control: not tested yet
The build quality is no reason for a downgrade
- The cable is relatively thick,
- The locking lever, with which the adapter is locked in the camera-side hot shoe, is working properly
- The adapter has a rubber cover (splash protection)
- The shoe, the flash (with me: Speedlite 430 EX II) receives, ensures a snug fit
- The tripod thread is milled from metal and makes a solid impression,
- Only the thumb wheel, with the Flash Adapter in the small tripod foot, which is supplied with the 430 EX II, is screwed, is rather unwieldy. Without this setting, the connection Lightning Kablelsdapter-foot is too much play.
Suggestion: I think it would be much more practical if the cable to the camera-side adapter would not run forward, ie towards the lens, but sideways, in order to lead away DSA cable better.
So overall a product that I can recommend. But as so often, one wonders how the still relatively high price is justified because the material costs are likely to be marginal.
